Often the smallest home in the neighborhood, these homes are relaxed and easy to keep clean, according to the owners.

However, these homeowners use certain tactics to utilize their space and make their home still feel open. One method is having a lot of natural light. Another way to make the space feel less constricted is having an open floor plan, and expanding the living space to the exterior, as well.

In line with this trend, I am proud to be a part of a new project in Greenfield, Green River Commons (pictured right). Construction of these seven sustainable, ground level townhouses began in early November, just steps from downtown Greenfield. These low-cost condominiums are designed to be energy-efficient with LED lighting, roofs to support solar panels, energy star appliances, and more. They also have sensible floor plans that utilize the smaller space to maximize comfort.

Contact me today to learn more about these new affordable, sustainable homes or visit GreenRiverCommons.com.

View the survey here.

Community House For Sale Contemporary Pioneer Valley Green Living Business Opportunity Area Updates Smart Home buyers coldwell banker Wanda Mooney Franklin County Western Mass First Time Home Buyer Low Maintenance Single Level Living Greenfield condominium Real Estate News Sat, 16 Dec 2017 16:12:40 -0500 Smart Home Devices Under $100 https://www.wandamooney.com/blog/posts/2016/01/19/smart-home-devices-under-100/
Smart home devices do not have to be expensive. Check out some affordable and handy smart home devices, all under $100.

Roost Batteries

Looking for a Nest Smoke Detector alternative that won't cost you a few hundred bucks? One of the hassles of parenting is trying to monitor the temperature of your sick child. There's the head thermometer that you're not quite sure how to use properly.

There's the thermometer that goes under your tongue that never stays in place. And then there's that other thermometer that goes somewhere else and you're a little grossed out every time you have to use it...you know what I mean. The Temp Traq is basically a thermometer band aid. You stick it on your child and you can monitor his/her temperature throughout the day and even while they sleep right from your smartphone. Plus it can send you an alert if their temperature spikes so you can keep tabs on when they need closer attention.

One Temp Traq will cost you only $24.99.
Smart Home Tue, 19 Jan 2016 23:01:59 -0500 What is a Smart Home? https://www.wandamooney.com/blog/posts/2016/01/09/what-is-a-smart-home/
Selling Your Home? - Make Your Home Smart!

A Smart Home Is...A home equipped with lighting, heating and electronic devices that can be controlled remotely by phone or computer. You can contact your smart home on the Internet to make sure the dinner is cooked, the central heating is on, the curtains are drawn and the gas fire is on when you get home.

After figuring out what a smart home is my next questions is - Do I Need A Smart Home? The Chart above shares some good information as to why I would want a smart home. The research shows 72% of people with smart home technology feel more secure, 62% feel more connected to their home. Another reason a smart home is a good investment for me is that buyers are now looking for homes with smart technology.

How Do I Begin? To figured this out I turned to the technology leaders at Coldwell Banker and found them in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Consumer Electronics Show. This is a trade show filled with the newest available technology for your smart home. Here is an interview with Jeff Lyman, CMO of Vivint, good conversation about devices, cost effectiveness and new technologies coming soon. After downloading the ConnectSense app you can control the outlet from your smartphones and even set up rules for when outlets should be turned on and off based on the time of day. How cool is this?
