The Town of Orange is located in the eastern part of Franklin County and it lies along Route 2. Orange has its own municipal airport which is open to the public and home to Lake Mattawa. The lake is a popular spot for swimming, boating, and fishing. It is stocked with trout and salmon for fishing and the waters are so clear, you can see 15 feet down. There is a small, unsupervised beach for enjoying the beautiful views and a boat ramp provides access to the lake. Elementary students attend either Fisher Hill or Dexter Park and middle and high school students attend Mahar Regional School.
