Hawley one of the rural hill-towns of western Franklin County in Massachusetts. The town is home to Hawley Bog, one of the few bogs in Massachusetts to be preserved in its natural state. The town lies within Kenneth Dubuque Memorial State Forest, which has several recreation sites for all seasons and the Mohawk Trail State Forest also extends into the town from Charlemont and Savoy. Elementary students attend the Hawlemont Elementary School in Charlemont and Junior High and High School students attend Mohawk Trail Regional High School. The town of Hawley is near many recreational activities including Berkshire East Mountain Resort.
