Franklin County, Mass Centers Open for Disaster Recovery

FRANKLIN COUNTY DISASTER RECOVERY CENTERS OPEN
WESTFIELD, Mass. - Disaster Recovery Centers are now open in Greenfield and Buckland/Shelburne Falls in Franklin County to serve those whose homes or businesses were affected by Tropical Storm Irene.

Representatives from the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Small Business Administration, along with other agencies, are on hand to explain disaster assistance programs and help you through the recovery process.

The Recovery Centers are open at the following locations:

 GREENFIELD

Green River Elementary School
62 Meridian Street
Greenfield, MA  01301

 BUCKLAND/SHELBURNE FALLS

Mohawk Trail Regional High School
26 Ashfield Road
Shelburne Falls, MA  01370

The centers will operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, until further notice.  Additional disaster recovery centers are expected to open throughout the declared counties.

If you have damage or losses as a result of the tropical storm, you are encouraged to register with FEMA before going to the recovery center. You may register by calling 800-621-FEMA (3362) or 800-462-7585(TTY) for people with a hearing or speech impairment. Help is available in most languages. Registration also can be completed online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or using a Web-enabled mobile device or smartphone at m.fema.gov and follow the link "apply online for federal assistance."
