It’s time to hit the trail again - the Asparagus Valley Pottery Trail, that is! Join local Western Mass potters and their guest potters, as they welcome you into their studios. Pottery and food have long been entwined and this trail is a celebration of the area’s rich agricultural history and cultural vitality.
This year’s event returns in two parts: online and in-person. At noon on Friday, April 29th, 2022, the potters will place many items on sale in their online shops. View the directory of online shops here and enjoy the pottery trail from the comfort of your own home.
Then, on Saturday, April 30th and Sunday, May 1st, grab a map and head out on the trail. You can start from the north or the south. Along the way, you’ll enjoy scenic routes, reaching from Shelburne Falls to Northampton and Florence.
This year, 23 different potters will participate in this event at eight different studios. The resident potters will open up their studios Saturday and Sunday with demonstrations, pottery sales, on-demand poetry and more.
Be sure to also grab a pottery trail passport! Get your passport stamped at all 8 studios and you’ll have a chance to win one of 23 pieces made by one of the potters.
