Activities for Kids at Local Libraries in Franklin County

February school break is approaching and with the winter weather still in swing, it can be easy to run out of ideas for activities to fill the days. Luckily, our local libraries offer lots of wonderful events and are a great resource for kids to have fun and continue their learning away from school. Libraries are not just for finding books to read, there are also crafting events, storytimes, musical events, and more. Here are a few special events happening locally this month at libraries in Franklin County, Massachusetts.

The Wheeler Public Library in Orange hosts Preschool Read and Craft on Tuesday mornings from 10:30 to 11:15 am. A story is read out loud, along with singing, movement, and an easy craft. This activity is best for children aged 3 to 5.

On Wednesdays from 10 to 11:30 am, the Dickinson Memorial Library in Northfield hosts a library play hour upstairs in the Children’s Room. Join Deb Wood for storytime and fun activities for kids ages 0 to 5. Families can also enjoy a walk along the Library Trail StoryWalk.

Dickinson Memorial Library also hosts Kids' Fridays from 2 to 3 pm on the Fridays when Northfield Elementary School has early release. Each Friday is a different activity such as legos, movies, books, and more. Find out what the next activity will be on their event calendar
