This year one of our Franklin County towns is celebrating its 350th year anniversary! Celebrate all year long with Northfield, Massachusetts as they mark their historic beginnings in 1673. All of the events are based around the theme Reconnecting Northfield, and are inspired by the beautiful Connecticut River which runs through the town.
The celebrations will include a variety of events such as entertainment, history and children’s programs, a symphony performance, grand parade, and a fireworks display! Most of the events will offer 350th commemorative memorabilia, too. Both the town folk and visitors are welcome to come and enjoy these events throughout the year.
The next event in honor of Northfield’s 350th is the Mill Brook Trail Walk on Saturday, May 7th, 2023. All are welcome to come for a scenic and informative walk along the Mill Brook Wetlands Trail. Everyone will meet at the Northfield Post Office at 1 pm before heading out for a walk led by Annie Chappell, who will also speak about the “Early Industries Along the Streams”.
