Come out for a relaxing day with neighbors and friends in Buckland on Saturday, July 15th, 2023. The annual Summer Day on the Buckland Common returns this year with even more events planned for children. Bring the kids for face painting, crafting, cake walks, and a dance-along story time.
Events are planned from 10 am to 3 pm with live music, visual arts, games, displays, and food. Catch the live music on the down common with performances by the Riverbenders, David Herrera, Shelburne Falls Military Band, and Syman and Garfield.
View local art including mosaics by Cynthia Fisher of Big Bang Mosaics, who will also put on demonstrations. Head into the fiber arts tent to see displays of spinning, weaving, and needle felting.
Join in on the Buckland Historical Society's scavenger hunt and check out their display of historical models created by Arnold Purinton. You'll also be invited into the museum for a glimpse into Buckland's history.
Cool down inside the Buckland Public Hall in case of extreme heat. Then grab a bite at one of the food vendors. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, and chili. For dessert, purchase a specialty blueberry coffee cake from the Buckland Historical Society.
Summer Day on the Buckland Common is a free event, with free parking on either end of Upper Street.
