Throughout our regions history, travel has been an integral part of trade, transport, and communications. From local rivers, especially the Connecticut River, to famous routes like the Mohawk Trail, our local history of travel is interesting and expansive! That is why the Greenfield Historical Society has an entire exhibit dedicated to travel and transportation, and it is on now through the end of September.
The new exhibit, titled "Rivers, Roads, & Railroads: Travel and Transportation," features photos, paintings, maps, and other items which give us insight into our local history of transportation. There is even an enormous riverboat oar on display, from the days of the Connecticut Riverboats.
View the exhibit on Saturdays from noon to 3 pm from now until September 30th, 2023 at the Greenfield Historical Society at 43 Church Street, Greenfield, Massachusetts.
