Local favorite restaurant, The Farm Table, in Bernardston, was reopened in June this year after shutting its doors during the Covid-19 pandemic. Turner Falls native Ashley Evans approached the owner of Kringle Candle, Michael J. “Mick” Kittredge III, about reopening The Farm Table while she was home visiting family. Evans is already an experienced restaurateur and is passionate about bringing back a restaurant which she frequented with her family while growing up in Western Mass.
Some aspects of The Farm Table have changed, while other parts have been brought back to life. For example, the restaurant is no longer a high-end eatery, but rather strives to be a more approachable place where working people can regularly dine. On the other hand, some of the previously loved menu items are back such as fried oysters, charcuterie boards, and brick oven pizzas.
There is also an extensive drinks menu with plenty of wine, beer, and cocktail offerings. All of the cocktails were specially created for The Farm Table by bar manager Ethan Bray and use unique ingredients such as sugar snap peas or chicory pecan bitters.
With the reopening of The Farm Table, there were 50 jobs added to the community. They are still looking for additional team members and the available roles can be seen on their website.
