This weekend, Conway has a whole lineup of events planned in celebration of its annual Festival of the Hills. Since 1962, Conway has been putting on this event to welcome visitors to experience the “warmth and joie de vivre” of the town. Over 120 volunteers work together to make this multi-layered event happen, which includes crafts, food, exhibitors, a road race, live music, and more.
The Festival of the Hills will kick off Sunday morning with the Friends of the Library Book Sale at Field Memorial Library at 9 am, followed by the start of the Covered Bridge Classic 10K Road Race at 10 am. Then the main events will continue from 10 to 4 with a packed schedule. You can find the entire schedule here but some special highlights include an Art Exhibit by local artists at the library, the Craft Fair, a raffle table, children’s activities, and fried dough with maple cream. Plus there will be a full lineup of bands and musicians playing music from bluegrass to soul to rock and blues.
The festival itself is on Sunday, October 1st, 2023, but you should also check out the pre-festival events planned for Saturday, September 30th. The Festival Bake Sale will run from 9 am to 2 pm in the Town Center and the Friends of Library Book Sale will also run from 9 am to 3 pm. Attend the Turkey Dinner in the evening by reserving your spot or sign up to receive a takeout dinner instead.
