Formerly known as The Girls Club of Greenfield, The Learning Knoll is a local non-profit organization which provides childcare and after school programs. Their approach emphasizes a low teacher-to-student ratio and sets an example of ethical and appropriate behavior. Additionally, they maintain a welcoming, well-equipped, and enriching environment that is always open and accessible to parents.
The Learning Knoll has two campuses: one in Greenfield and one in Shelburne Falls. The Greenfield Campus, located at 35 Pierce Street, offers childcare for infants from 15 months old and toddlers, as well as after school programs for school-aged children up to 12 years old. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are served daily to the kids so that they can stay healthy and focused throughout the day. Lessons and activities are presented in a stimulating and supportive environment. Children are encouraged to explore and play while being well-supervised in a loving and nurturing atmosphere.
The Shelburne Falls Campus, located at 23 Water Street, is for infants aged 8 months and up, to toddlers, and preschool-aged children up to 6 years old. The infants and toddlers are well cared for in a nurturing environment where they can explore and learn. In the preschool program, children partake in learning activities such as building, dramatic play, art, science, and literature.
In the summertime, The Learning Knoll offers Camp Lion Knoll in Leyden, Massachusetts. The camp is a great place for fun and adventure. Children ages 5 to 12 years old can attend the camp and experience fun in the outdoors while developing their own environmental consciousness. At Camp Lion Knoll, campers get to participate in activities such as swimming, theatre, music, and arts and crafts.
