As the warm weather approaches, it's time to start getting excited for summer music festivals. And there's no better way to kick off the season than by attending the opening of the Green River Festival Exhibit at the Memorial Hall Museum in Deerfield, Massachusetts this Saturday, May 11th from 12-2pm.
The exhibit celebrates the long-running Green River Festival, an annual outdoor music event held in Greenfield, MA that features an incredible lineup of folk, roots, world, and Americana artists. It will take you behind the scenes with photography, memorabilia, stories and more from the festival's history.
But the exhibit opening itself promises to be a festival-like experience! Highlights include:
Live Music
The Western Mass Fiddlers will be performing traditional New England folk tunes to get you in that festival spirit. Tap your toes and dance along as you enjoy the music.
Door Prizes
Just by attending, you'll be entered to win door prizes like tickets to the 2024 Green River Festival itself!
Food and Beer
Delicious food will be available for purchase, plus local craft beers from Berkshire Brewing Company.
In case you miss the opening, you can still see the exhibit at the Memorial Hall Museum until June 16th or at the Green River Festival itself June 21-23. But you won't want to miss the opening day festivities this Saturday. It's the perfect way for music fans to get hyped for festival season while learning about this long-standing Western Mass event.
