Notice Non-Profits: Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts

Girl Scouts of Central and Western MassachusettsThe Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts (GSCWM) is a youth organization dedicated to building courage, confidence, and character in girls from kindergarten through 12th grade. It serves over 15,000 girls across 186 communities in the region.

What Girls Scouts Do

Girl Scouts participate in a variety of activities and programs focused on developing leadership skills, exploring the outdoors, engaging in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), learning financial literacy, and pursuing entrepreneurship opportunities. One of their most well-known initiatives is the Girl Scout Cookie Program, which teaches girls essential business and financial skills.

The Girl Scout Leadership Experience encourages girls to realize their potential, gain critical life skills, form healthy relationships, and identify and solve problems in their communities through engaging, challenging, and fun activities.

How to Join

Membership in Girl Scouts is open to all girls from kindergarten through 12th grade. To join, visit the GSCWM website and click on the "Join" button to find a local troop or start a new one. Women and men over 18 can also join as adult members and volunteers.

Volunteer Opportunities

GSCWM relies heavily on adult volunteers to support its programs and activities. Volunteer roles include troop leaders, camp staff, event coordinators, and more. Visit the GSCWM website and click on the "Volunteer" button to explore current opportunities and submit an application.

Donations

As a non-profit organization, GSCWM depends on donations to continue its mission of empowering girls. Donations support programs, camps, financial assistance, and other initiatives. To make a donation, visit the GSCWM website and click on the "Donate" button, or mail a check to their office at 115 Century Drive, Worcester, MA 01606.

By supporting GSCWM through volunteering or donations, you can help provide girls with invaluable experiences and opportunities to develop into confident, courageous, and character-driven leaders.
