Located on a 105-acre former dairy farm in Ashfield, Massachusetts, Double Edge Theatre is a cultural cooperative and ensemble collective that has been pushing the boundaries of theatrical performance since 1982. Founded by Stacy Klein, this unique organization views itself as having a two-fold mission: to develop and promote the highest quality of original theatre performance, and to create a permanent center for performance, practice, training, research, and cultural exchange.
At the heart of Double Edge Theatre's philosophy is the concept of "living culture," which encompasses their distinctive method of research, exchange, and collaborations worldwide. This approach is evident in their performances, which often blend physical theater, music, and stunning visual elements to create immersive experiences that challenge and inspire audiences.
On October 27, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Double Edge Theatre will host Community Day, co-presented with their partner organization, Ohketeau. This exciting event invites attendees to immerse themselves in a vibrant afternoon filled with diverse activities that celebrate both organizations' artistic and cultural missions.
Participants can look forward to a variety of engaging experiences, including: flying on bungees, learning about Algonquin traditional food ways, singing and playing music, dancing, and making corn husk dolls.
This event promises to be a wonderful blend of creativity, community engagement, and cultural learning, making it an ideal outing for families, friends, and anyone interested in the arts. Don't miss this chance to experience the unique offerings of Double Edge Theatre and Ohketeau while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of their Ashfield farm.
