Northfield Mountain has announced its November Hike of the Month, a 4-mile round trip adventure that promises breathtaking views and invigorating exercise. The trail begins at the pond behind the Visitor Center, following blue diamonds marking the Hidden Quarry Trail. Hikers will traverse Hemlock Hill and Reservoir Road, eventually reaching a grassy knoll at 1,050 feet above sea level – a perfect spot to rest and take in the panoramic vistas.
For those seeking an extra challenge, an additional half-mile can be added by following the paved road down to the intersection with Tooleybush in Fullers Pasture. The late fall season provides an ideal backdrop for this hike, with brisk temperatures and the vibrant colors of scarlet and russet oak leaves enhancing the woodland scenery.
