Bright Nights at Forest Park, Springfield's enchanting holiday light display, is set to delight visitors for its 30th season from November 27, 2024 to January 5, 2025. This year, the event features over 675,000 lights illuminating a scenic three-mile drive, along with exciting attractions like Santa’s Magical Forest.
This year’s festivities include some exciting new features such as a carousel for children and additional concession stands to enhance the experience for families.
Wagon and Carriage Rides
For a unique experience, visitors can enjoy horse-drawn wagon and carriage rides through the park. These rides begin at the Bright Nights Gift Stop and take guests on a journey through festive displays including the Garden of Peace and Jurassic World.
Rides depart approximately every half hour starting at 5:30 PM, with the last ride at 8:30 PM. Reservations are required for both wagon and carriage rides.
Santa's Magical Forest
Santa will be present in his Magical Forest from opening night until Christmas Eve, greeting children and families, listening to holiday wishes, and posing for photos. This area will also feature snacks, souvenirs, and a grand carousel, making it a perfect stop for families visiting Bright Nights.
Bright Nights at Forest Park has become a cherished tradition for many families in the region, drawing over 6 million visitors since its inception in 1995. It promises a magical experience filled with holiday spirit, making it an event not to be missed this season!
The event opens nightly at 5 PM, with closing times varying from 9 PM Sunday through Thursday to 10 PM on weekends and holidays. Tickets must be purchased in advance online or at local retailers like Big Y.
Admission to Bright Nights is $23 per car, with $10 Tuesdays. On December 10 and December 17, admission is just $10 per car.
