Notice Non-Profits: Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for HumanityAs a real estate agent, I am proud to feature Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity in this edition of Notice Non-Profits. This incredible organization has been building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership in Hampshire and Franklin Counties since 1989.

About Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity

As an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, Pioneer Valley Habitat envisions a world where everyone has a decent place to live. They partner with families in need to build or improve homes, relying on the hard work of volunteers and the generosity of donors. Future homeowners contribute 250 hours of labor toward their own homes and pay affordable mortgages, creating a cycle of support that helps fund future builds.

To date, the organization has helped more than 50 families achieve the dream of homeownership—each project made possible by the dedication of community volunteers, material donations, and financial gifts.

How You Can Get Involved

There are many ways to support Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity and their mission:

1. Volunteer Your Time
Volunteers are the heart of Habitat’s work. Whether you’re experienced with construction or picking up a hammer for the first time, there’s a place for you.

  • Construction Volunteering: Sign up for shifts, attend an orientation, and join a build site.
  • Group Builds: Bring your workplace, team, or friends for a day of teamwork and impact.
  • Women Build: Participate in monthly events focused on empowering women and underrepresented individuals in construction.

2. Donate to Support Builds

Your financial contributions help Habitat for Humanity purchase critical materials—from $50 for nails to $165,000 for full home construction costs. You can also join the Golden Hammer Club for monthly giving or explore options like tribute giving, planned giving, and even car donations through Habitat’s Cars for Homes program.

3. Give In-Kind Donations
Materials like windows, doors, or tools are vital to keeping construction costs low and homes affordable. Businesses and individuals alike can contribute to this effort.

When you support Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity, you’re not just building homes—you’re building hope. Every hour volunteered and every dollar donated helps local families achieve stability and independence.

To learn more about volunteering or donating, visit Pioneer Valley Habitat for Humanity’s website or call their office at 413-586-5430.

Together, let’s make sure everyone in our community has a place to call home.
