Calling all lovers of handmade pottery, scenic drives, and small-town charm—mark your calendars for April 26th & 27th, 2025, from 10 AM to 5 PM, for the 21st Annual Asparagus Valley Pottery Trail!
This self-guided tour features 8 unique clay studios nestled in the beautiful Upper Connecticut River Valley of Western Massachusetts—a region known for its lush farmland, historic towns, and vibrant arts scene. With 28 talented potters participating this year, including Molly Cantor, James Guggina, Tiffany Hilton, Lucy Fagella, Stephen Earp, Donna McGee, Mary Barringer, and Steve Théberge, the trail offers an unforgettable weekend of craft, creativity, and connection.
What Makes the Trail Special?
The Asparagus Valley Pottery Trail isn’t just a pottery sale—it’s a celebration of the long-standing ties between pottery, food, and community in a region rich with agricultural and cultural history. Each studio opens its doors to the public, inviting visitors to meet the artists, learn about their processes, and shop for functional and decorative ceramics in a wide range of styles.
And this year, along with your favorite resident potters, there will be exciting guest artists bringing fresh work and new perspectives to the trail.
A Weekend Road Trip Worth Taking
Easily accessible from Boston, Hartford, and Albany, the trail winds through picturesque rural roads, past rolling fields, budding orchards, and classic New England villages. Whether you're a longtime collector or simply curious about handmade pottery, the trail offers something for everyone—plus plenty of opportunities to stop for local food, coffee, and springtime sightseeing along the way.
Win Pottery with the Trail Passport
Want to add some excitement to your journey? Don’t forget to print your own Trail Passport here, and have it stamped at all 8 studios. Completing the trail enters you into a raffle to win a piece of pottery from one of the participating artists—that’s 28 chances to win a one-of-a-kind work of art!
Whether you’re looking to add a new mug to your morning routine or simply want to soak up the creative spirit of Western Massachusetts, the Asparagus Valley Pottery Trail is the perfect spring weekend escape. See you on the trail!
