The Bridge of Flowers Classic 8K & 3K: A Shelburne Falls Summer Tradition

On Saturday, August 9, 2025, Shelburne Falls will once again welcome runners, fans, and families for the 45th annual Bridge of Flowers Classic — a beloved community race that winds through one of New England’s most scenic small towns.

Ready to Run?

Race Times:

  • 3K starts at 8:00 AM

  • 8K starts at 9:00 AM

Whether you’re an experienced racer or just looking for a lively way to start your Saturday, the Bridge of Flowers Classic delivers. The 8K course offers rolling hills, shaded roads, and beautiful views — a satisfying challenge for runners and a visual treat along the way.

Registration is online-only — no same-day sign-ups — so don’t wait. The race fills fast and is a highlight of Western Massachusetts’ running calendar.


Not Running? Come Cheer.

This event is just as much about the spectators. The race turns downtown Shelburne Falls into a celebration, with cheering crowds, a buzzing main street, and a freshly renovated Bridge of Flowers blooming in full summer glory.

Bridge of Flowers Race VolunteersVolunteers are the heart of race day. From water stations to finish-line logistics, there are plenty of ways to pitch in. In return? A race tee, your choice of beer or ice cream, and the satisfaction of helping a cherished local tradition thrive.

Spots fill up quickly, so sign up early via the event’s online volunteer form.


A Race with Roots

Launched in 1979, the Bridge of Flowers Classic isn’t just a race — it’s a tradition built on community spirit. Organized under the guidance of DIAL/SELF Youth & Community Services, the event also supports local youth empowerment and community service programs.

The course weaves through Shelburne Falls, crossing the historic Iron Bridge, with views of the Bridge of Flowers — now one of the town’s most treasured landmarks, open from April to October and drawing visitors from all over.

After the finish line, the celebration continues in front of Blue Rock Restaurant (1 Ashfield Street):

  • All finishers enjoy free ice cream from Mo’s Fudge Factor

  • 21+ runners get a craft beer from Floodwater Brewery

    • $250 (1st)

    • $150 (2nd)
