After more than a year of careful restoration, the beloved Bridge of Flowers in Shelburne Falls is officially ready to welcome the public back.
On Monday, August 18, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., community members, visitors, and officials will gather near Buckland Town Hall for the official reopening ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event will mark the formal conclusion of a massive $3.2 million restoration effort that saw the bridge fully dismantled and rebuilt, from its underlying structure to its lush plantings.
Honoring the Work Behind the Beauty
State and local leaders, members of the Bridge of Flowers Committee, and many who worked on the project will be on hand to share remarks and mark the occasion. Head Gardener Carol DeLorenzo, Assistant Gardener Elliston Bingham, and the “Blossom Brigade” of volunteers have already begun the careful process of replanting, blending beloved perennials from the old garden with hundreds of new plantings. While the new garden will take time to fully mature, visitors will see a vibrant mix of blooms this season — a preview of the beauty still to come.

Its reopening isn’t just the return of a picturesque spot; it’s a moment of renewal for the entire village, bringing fresh energy for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
