The Big E, presented by Eastern States Exposition, returns to West Springfield, Massachusetts from September 18–28, 2025. As the largest event on the East Coast and the only multi-state fair in the country, it’s a vibrant showcase for all six New England states, offering an immersive experience of food, entertainment, and agricultural heritage.
Things To Do
Visitors can stroll the Avenue of States to explore one-third scale replicas of each New England state’s historic capitol building, experiencing local products and traditions including Massachusetts cranberries, Maine baked potatoes, and authentic Vermont cheddar. Each building is owned by its state, making the Avenue a truly unique fairground feature.
There are daily parades, Swifty Swine Racing Pigs, circus shows, and the ever-popular Farm-A-Rama barnyard exhibit, providing plenty of opportunities for families to see animals and enjoy interactive displays.
Food
Fairgoers can indulge in a range of bold and creative culinary offerings, from iconic Cream Puffs to creative newcomers like the Pickle Shake, Sloppy Dough, and the Dirty Monkey Frappuccino. With more than 90 new foods this year, vendors serve up local favorites alongside innovative treats — including deep-fried stuffed peppers, lobster nachos, and unique desserts like MooNug ice cream. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available, ensuring everyone can find something to enjoy.
Entertainment & Special Performances
Entertainment is a hallmark, with headline concerts at The Big E Arena featuring major acts throughout the schedule, including performances from Train, ZZ Top, TLC with Big Boi, and The Kid LAROI. Free daily shows on the Court of Honor Stage bring a mix of music, comedy, and dance performances, ensuring lively entertainment from morning until night.
Vendors & Shopping
The fair hosts hundreds of vendors, from local artisans and food entrepreneurs to major exhibitors featuring New England-made goods. Shoppers will find farm products, crafts, jewelry, and specialty foods—plus interactive demonstrations and opportunities to learn from makers on-site.
Agricultural Shows
Agriculture is central to The Big E’s mission, with a full schedule of livestock competitions, youth shows, and hands-on exhibits. The Farm-A-Rama features live animals, educational displays, and demonstrations that celebrate New England’s farming heritage.
Other Highlights
Special events include military appreciation days and themed state celebrations, offering visitors distinct experiences each day of the fair. Interactive attractions and demonstrations, like glassblowing and farm olympics, add further variety to the festival experience.
The Big E is widely considered a must-visit for its unique blend of tradition, community, and innovation, making it one of the premier fairs in North America. Families, foodies, music fans, and anyone interested in New England’s vibrant culture will find plenty to discover.
