Ski United 2026 Brings Community Spirit to the Slopes

On Thursday, February 5, 2026, local skiers, snowboarders, and community supporters will head to Berkshire East Mountain Resort in Charlemont for the annual Ski United fundraiser benefiting the United Way of the Franklin and Hampshire Region.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., followed by an apres ski gathering from 4 to 6 p.m. The full-day ticket is $150 per person, which covers a lift pass, lunch, event tee shirt, slalom race, and dinner afterward. Those who prefer to join just for the dinner can attend for $40.

A Longstanding Local Tradition

Now in its 16th year, Ski United has become a favorite winter tradition in Western Massachusetts. What began as a way to bring people together for a good cause has grown into a cornerstone winter fundraiser for the United Way. In 2025, the event raised more than $39,000, pushing the total raised over the years to well above $250,000.

Proceeds support United Way programs and local partner organizations that provide essentials like food, housing, childcare, and literacy programs. The organization also distributes diapers, school supplies, and other basic items to families across Franklin and Hampshire counties—where nearly one in three residents lives with low or moderate income.

How to Take Part

Ski United offers a chance to spend a winter day doing something you love while directly supporting neighbors in need. Berkshire East has partnered with the event since the start, making it an ideal setting for both seasoned skiers and newcomers.

Local businesses and organizations are also encouraged to get involved as sponsors. Sponsorship details are available on the Ski United sponsorship page.

A day on the slopes, good company, and a shared purpose—there’s no better way to enjoy February in the hilltowns.
