A Beloved Community Festival Returns
On Saturday, May 30, 2026, Música Franklin will bring the community together once again for its 8th Annual Fun Fest, a vibrant, family-friendly celebration of music, creativity, and local culture. The free event will take place from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Unity Park in Turners Falls, Massachusetts, with a rain location at Greenfield Middle School.
Designed as an all-ages festival, Fun Fest continues to grow as one of Franklin County’s most anticipated spring events. Organized by Música Franklin—a free after-school music and social justice program serving students in grades K–12—the festival highlights both emerging young musicians and accomplished regional performers.

Live Music and Performances All Afternoon
This year’s lineup offers a dynamic mix of live performances throughout the afternoon. Música Franklin students will open the event, followed by a playful performance from My My Mime. Attendees can then enjoy a set by John Hughes and Stephen Katz, leading into a lively parade and performance by the Expandable Brass Band. The Lost Tribe will take the stage later in the afternoon, before the brass band returns to close out the celebration.
Hands-On Activities for All Ages
Beyond the music, Fun Fest offers a wide range of interactive experiences. Families can explore an “instrument petting zoo,” where children and adults alike are invited to try out different instruments in a hands-on setting. Artspace Greenfield will host creative arts-and-crafts activities, while young visitors can enjoy face painting, giant bubbles, and science-based play exploring how sound behaves in water.

Local Vendors, Food, and Community Connections
The festival also features local craft vendors and community organizations, creating opportunities for attendees to shop locally and connect with nonprofits serving the region. Food will be available from Stone Soup Cafe, adding to the welcoming, community-centered atmosphere.
Supported by Regional Arts Organizations
Fun Fest is made possible through the support of numerous regional and national arts organizations, including the New England Foundation for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Mass Cultural Council, along with local sponsors and community partners.

With its blend of live music, creative exploration, and community engagement, Música Franklin’s Fun Fest offers something for everyone.
