Start the summer outdoors at the 18th Annual Free Family Fishing Day, a community favorite that brings together families and nature enthusiasts for a full day of fishing and hands-on activities. This event is free and open to all ages, with activities at two nearby locations—Barton Cove Campground and the Great Falls Discovery Center.
Children must be accompanied by an adult, and the event takes place rain or shine.
Barton Cove Campground

Free fishing for all ages—no Massachusetts fishing license required.

Fishing equipment is available in limited supply. If you have your own gear, please bring it.

Volunteers will be on hand to assist beginners and help families get started.
Great Falls Discovery Center

Fish printing from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Free Shuttle Service
A shuttle bus will run continuously between Barton Cove and the Discovery Center from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to make it easy to enjoy activities at both sites.
