Fall Festivals this Columbus Day Weekend

There is nothing more beautiful then the fall season is in Western Massachusetts!   The gorgeous hills are alive with color.  In addition to driving around and enjoying the magic of the season you can stop at two of my favorite festivals.  The Ashfield Falls Festival is Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 5:00.   You will see craft and art exhibits along with locally grown foods, music, and plenty of children's activities.   Don't forget to try the delicious fried dough and stop by Mike Skalski's flea market!

If you want to venture to Northampton the Paradise City Arts Festival is the 8th, 9th & 10th of this weekend.   You will be amazed at the gorgeous display of art work both locally and afar.   If you are looking to buy something special for a friend, family member or yourself, then stop by sometime this weekend.  You won't be disappointed!

Village of Shelburne Falls #1 Best New England Place to Visit

Congratulations to the Village of Shelburne Falls for making the #1 spot as one of the best hidden New England places that you must visit at least once by OnlyInYourState.com. Being a native of the area I have witnessed this charming village transform into a fabulous place for those wanting to visit or relocate here. The picturesque Deerfield River meanders through two towns that are connected by an iron bridge and the Famous Bridge of Flowers. The ancient glacial potholes are within walking distance of the downtown and are a site to see. The street is lined with artisan shops, eateries, food markets and more!

Springfield-Holyoke-Northampton-Greenfield Commuter Train Project

A Springfield-Holyoke-Northampton-Greenfield commuter train project is in the early stages of discussion among state and local authorities. The benefits for our area are easy to see. What a great option for Greenfield residents who work in Northampton or Springfield!

Commuting to work by train would give the freedom to read, phone, text, work or just close your eyes and enjoy some down time instead of driving.
